Dan H. Honeywell, the principal of Honeywell Mediation, is a successful Florida trial attorney who turned his full-time energies to the practice of alternative dispute resolution in 2008, after 38 years of an extensive state-wide law practice in complex civil litigation in both state and federal courts.

Among other significant credentials, Dan has been a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer of the Florida Bar since 1983.  He is also certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator and, among comparatively few, as an Appellate Mediator.  Mr. Honeywell  is also certified by the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, as a Federal Mediator.

Dan is a third-generation Floridian, born and raised in Vero Beach, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting and returned  there after his military service, including as a combat decorated helicopter pilot with the First Cavalry Division in Viet Nam, to obtain his law degree, with honors. 

After law school Mr. Honeywell practiced civil trial law throughout Florida from his successful law firm based in Orlando, while also achieving peer recognition continuously as one of “The Best Lawyers in America”, and other peer-selected groups, since 1993.

Dan now practices law full-time solely in alternative dispute resolution, “ADR”, with a special emphasis upon mediation, to assist others to obtain dispute resolution success without trial.  He is also a much sought-after seminar speaker and publishes frequently on the subject of mediation and negotiation and  how anyone can become a better mediating participant.
